Obituary

Cynthia Marie Campbell

June 1, 1941 – June 1, 2025

Cynthia Marie Campbell, 84, of Randolph, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on her birthday, June 1, 2025, after a long illness with dementia. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mabel and James Campbell and was one of sixteen siblings. She is survived by her brothers James and Robert, and her sister Grace. She later relocated to Boston and ultimately settled in Randolph, where she spent many meaningful years surrounded by family.

Cynthia was a proud graduate of Salem State College and went on to serve as a dedicated educator within the Boston Public School system for many years. She was known for her passion for learning, her love of travel — including an unforgettable trip to Africa — and the deep care she extended to her many nieces and nephews.

She was married to the late Alonzo L. Freeman III of Newark, New Jersey. Together, they raised two sons, Alonzo L. Freeman IV and Jamal David Freeman. Cynthia was a proud and loving grandmother to Alonzo L. Freeman V and Alexander Jamal Freeman.

A visitation will be held at Goodrich Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11th, with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral procession begins at 12:30 p.m. with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a dementia or Alzheimer's foundation of your choice in Cynthia's honor.

She will be remembered for her strength, her dedication to education, and the deep love she had for her family.
