Daniel Thomas Vahey, "Danny" 43, sadly and unexpectedly passed away on December 21, 2022. He was born on November 26, 1979, to Edward and Maureen (Wells) Vahey in Boston, MA.

His memory will live on through his son's Nathan Vahey-Phillips and his fiancé Heather Adams, Devyn Phillips of Haverhill MA and Thomas and Tyler Vahey-Bettencourt of Peabody, MA.

Daniel grew up in Lynn, MA with his three siblings who he loved dearly, Kenneth Vahey and his wife Elisa Valeriano, Samantha Vahey, the Late Thomas Vahey and family dog the Late Chino. He shared a very special bond with his nephew Dylan Hubert who meant the world to him. Over the years he formed a close relationship with his brother-in-law Nick Drillis who will miss him dearly.

Daniel graduated from Lynn Tech High School in 1998 with a certificate in graphic arts. He played on the hockey team as the team goalie and defenseman. His love for hockey was passed on to his son Nathan who he proudly watched and had the pleasure of coaching. Anyone who knew Danny, knows he loved a good hockey fight! He always said, "You can lose the game, but you can never lose the fight."

In his early years Daniel worked for Bob Bond & Associates in Lynn, MA as a graphic designer. He was very proud of his work as it was just what he needed to be able to provide for his family. Throughout his most recent years Danny was a jack of all trades. From doing construction to working at the local fish market, you name it he did it. He always enjoyed learning new skills. His favorite part along his journey was becoming a father.

He loved his children and family more than anything.  His mother Maureen was not only his rock but his best friend and the love they share will remain unbroken.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Daniel on Friday December 30, 2022 from 1pm-4pm at Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street in Lynn.
