IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Mulvey
February 17, 2019
On Sunday, February 17, David Terence Mulvey, of Lynn, Ma, passed away at the age of 69.
David was born on December 31, 1949 in East Orange, New Jersey to Donald and Ann Mulvey. Donald and Ann raised four children, David, Catherine, Donald and Patricia.
David received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from St Bonaventure University before entering the Navy in 1971. David earned the Vietnam service medal and National Defense medal before his discharge in 1977. He then enrolled in East Stroudsburg State College, earning his Masters in Aquatic Biology. He loved fly fishing and working on field studies on aquatic insects but soon changed careers to work as an electronics technician. David could repair anything from a conveyer belt to a computerized check sorting machine. This talent led him first to Recognition Equipment and later to the USPS, from which he retired in 2012.
David had many skills and was an avid learner. He obtained his HAM radio license in 1984 and enjoyed this hobby immensely. He loved to cook and sharing a meal with close friends. While in the Navy, David fell in love with the ocean and he would live as close to this love as he could. He was brash, direct, honest and hard working, as genuine a person that he could be. He never married but loved his friends and family dearly.
David was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and mother, Ann. He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Donald and Theresa Mulvey of Austin, Texas, his sister and brother in law, Patricia and Dale Foley of Stroudsburg, Pa and his sister and brother in law Catherine and Anthony Pucek of Hopewell Junction, New York.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring, somewhere near the ocean among smiling faces and much love.
