While living in Malden, Donna met Anthony Flaherty and they were married on November 4, 1967. The couple had 2 children, Anthony Flaherty and Kelly (Flaherty) Blinn.
Donna and Anthony moved to Everett, Massachusetts where they raised their children and remained for the last 48 years of their 55 year marriage. The second of 4 children, Donna's siblings were, eldest brother, George (Billy) Norris deceased and his surviving wife, Gail Norris. Her younger siblings were her brother John (Junior) Norris and wife, Camille Norris, both deceased and her sister Eleanor (Ellie) Norris Jones, and her husband John Jones (deceased). Donna is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as lots of friends who loved her.
Donna and Tony enjoyed taking rides to New Hampshire and Maine visiting lighthouses or just walking along Rever Beach. Every year, she always looked forward to Tony taking her to Maine for her Birthday for a big lobster dinner. Donna worked for Bradlees Department Store, Sentry Ford and retired from Herb Chambers Mercedes. After suffering from kidney disease/failure and being on dialysis for 7 years, the family was given the ultimate gift. Due to the dedication and diligence of the amazing staff of the National Kidney Foundation and the caring transplant team at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts, Donna underwent her sucessful transplant procedure in December, 2021. Although it was a difficult road, with the loving support of her friends and family, she faced this and many more medical issues, with positivity and grace. For anyone who would like to honor her with a memoriam, donations can be made in Donna's name to the National Kidney Foundation. www.kidney.org
