Dorothy "Dottie" (Muise) McKernan Fennell, age 81, of Lynn, passed away Tuesday August 5, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of Bernard "Neil" Fennell, with whom she shared forty years. Born in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Muise. Prior to her retirement, Dottie was employed as a mail clerk with the GE. She was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed dancing. She was a member of the Franco American and the American Legion in Beverly. In addition to her husband Neil, she is survived by her children, Claire and her husband John Areyzaga of Peabody, Paul and his wife Donna McKernan of Peterborough, NH, Cheryl McKernan of Lynn, and was the mother of the late Gary McKernan, also survived by her grandchildren Daniel Burns McKernan, Kendra McKernan, Kathleen and her husband Andrew Hixson, Amanda McKernan, Kayla Duprey and David Duprey, several great-grandchildren, siblings LaRayne Anderson of Gloucester, Jean Powers of FL, June Stoutjesdyk of Michigan and Barbara Cameron of FL, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Myra Marshall and Harold and Robert Muise. Dottie's funeral will be from the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn, on Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church, Boston St., Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Visitation is today, 5-8 p.m. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
