Edna (Tiny) A. Coleman passed away on July 1, 2024 at her home in Lynnfield after a long battle with frontal-temporal dementia She is survived by her husband Roy J. Coleman, her sisters Andrea Spaneas and Toni Spaneas and her husband John, , nephews Marc Menard and Robert Carpenter, niece Kerry Carpenter, and several great nieces and nephews. She predeceased by her mother Edna and step-farther John Spaneas, sister Carol Carpenter, her farther Herbert MacDougall. She also survived by caregivers Ruth Tanhira and Irene Tanhira.
Tiny pursued her dream to become a registered nurse with a passion and graduated from Endicott College with an associate degree in nursing. As registered nurse she worked as a Director of Nursing, a Red Cross nurse, a visiting nurse, a detox nurse, and a medical surgical nurse. Tiny's compassion and exceptional assessment skills made her a great nurse. At age 70, she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southern New Hampshire University.
Tiny loved cats and is survived by her two cats Koko Moon and Rigel. Tiny had a great voice and loved to sing. As a young girl she had the unique opportunity to sing at Lynn Auditorium, escorted by two full-dressed marines, where she sang Teenager's Prayer and received a standing ovation. She later appeared on the local talent show Community Auditions.
Tiny was a friend of Bill W. for over forty years where she became a guiding light for many on their journey down the road to recovery.
We love you Tiny. You will be deeply missed.
Please join the family on Saturday, July 13, at her home at 7 Willis Lane, Lynnfield, for a Celebration of her Life from 11:30a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
