IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine (Maciejka)
Tracchia
September 7, 1951 – May 12, 2021
Elaine (Maciejka) Tracchia
Sept. 7, 1951 – May 12, 2021
Elaine (Maciejka) Tracchia passed away at the age of 69 on May 12, 2021. At the time of her death, she resided with her husband, Edward Tracchia, in Malden. She died from acute cardiopulmonary arrest as a result of her congestive heart failure.
Elaine was born on Sept. 7, 1951 to Novia Turkette Sr and Edna Martin in Lynn, Massachusetts. She was one of seven children, and was the driving moral compass of the family that carried over into her professional life; she created families all around her by choice. She achieved ultimate personal success based on the relationships she built and nurtured. When you were in her inner circle, you knew you were loved. Elaine stepped in to fill shoes in the family, playing grandma to Novia and Evangaline while her sister, Judy was living in Portugal, and when Judy visited, she would resume her true title, Auntie Elaine.
Elaine is survived by her sisters: Laura Pugliese of FL, Mary Mohammad of Everett, Judith D'Amaral of Portugal and of her brother Robert Turkette of Billerica. She leaves behind her daughter, Penny Maciejka-Hoene of Woburn, son in-law, Bernd and her five grandchildren, who all called her "Oma" Hans-Edward, Henning, Franziska, Edward and Kevin. Elaine leaves behind Carolyn (Fillmore) Olson of Georgetown; Carolyn had a layered relationship with Elaine; Carolyn was her daughter, her sister, her friend and her niece all packaged into one. This type of relationship teaches you that you don't have to be born into a title or position in a family rather you can choose your own title based on an emotion. Elaine was even a grandma to a neighbor, Lana.
She is predeceased by her sister Margaret Turkette of Lynn, and her brother, Novia Turkette, Jr of Lynn.
Services for the public will be held at Goodrich Funeral Home at 128 Washington Street in Lynn, Massachusetts on Sunday, May 23 rd , 2021 from 10am-2pm. Celebration to commemorate Elaine's life will be held immediately afterwards at her daughter's home at 51 North Warren Street in Woburn. All are welcome to join.
