Eric passed away on Aug. 22, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

He was born to John and Mary Bartley, on March 5, 1950, in Lynn, MA. He was the younger brother to Pamela (PJ) Melanaphy, Paul Bartley and an uncle to their children.  As a life long Lynn resident, he graduated Lynn Tech and worked for the Lynn DPW for many years.

Eric married his beautiful wife, Patricia Frawley and proudly helped raise their four beautiful children. He leaves behind, his son Craig Bartley and his wife Kristi, his daughter Heather Kelley and her husband John, his daughter Shauna Bartley and her partner Sean Smith and his youngest daughter Erika Bartley and her husband Phea Pheun. He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Ryan and Emily Kelley, Evan, Dianne and Jenette Pheun along with Layla Smith, who will all deeply miss their Grampy.

He is also predeceased by his mother-in-law Martha Frawley. Their adoration for one another will never be forgotten. He kept his promise Grammy.

Eric loved his Boston sports teams, fishing (but not on boats) and he never met a dance floor, at certain events, he didn't like. He loved music, watching movies and laughing at his favorite character Kramer on Seinfeld. He especially loved the holidays with his family. The countless people that called him a friend, speaks to how great of a man he was. His kindness and generosity was what drew people to him. His biggest passion in life though was his family. There's nothing he wouldn't do for his children and grandchildren. They are his pride and joy. If you knew him, you've probably heard countless stories of how proud he was of them all. He was the grandfather at every game, ceremony and special occasion. It's no doubt you've heard him cheering his grandkids on at these events.

While his passing causes immeasurable pain, let us not forget his unforgettable laugh, his sometimes corny sense of humor, his love of life, his love for the outdoors and that smile. We can't forget that smile we love so much.

He'll understand it's hard, but he'd want laughter not tears so let's celebrate his life today, tomorrow and always...
We'll love and miss you forever.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 30th from 4pm-7pm
In lieu of flowers, he asked for donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Eric would always find a way to send a little something for this charity so a memorial page was created in his honor.
