Mrs. Eva (LeBlanc) Cormier, age 87, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2017, following a prolonged period of illness at the North Shore Life Care Center in Lynn, with her beloved family at her side. She was the wife of the late Richard Cormier. A lifelong resident of Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Roy) LeBlanc. Eva was a devoted wife and mother. She attended St. Jean - Baptist School and was an active parishioner of St. Jean – Baptist Parish, where she was employed for many years. Eva had also worked at a local nursing home and at Maxey's Cleaners. She was also a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Eva was an avid reader. She greatly enjoyed visiting her brother in Kentucky and her sisters in Montreal and in Marlboro. She is survived by three children: Karen Odgers and her husband Tom of Lynn, Michael Cormier of Lynn and Mark Cormier of NH, one sister, Rita LeBlanc of Montreal, Canada, a brother: Brother Christian of the Trappist Monastery, Kentucky, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by an infant son, Matthew, her brother Walter "Sonny" LeBlanc and two sisters: Sr. Irene LeBlanc, SSA and Mrs. Jean DeFillipo. Her funeral will be held from the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church, 571 Boston St., Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Monday, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Donations, if desired, may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to a charity of one's choice.
