Florencio Fernando Diaz, 80, of Lynn, Massachusetts was born in Jacagua, Dominican Republic on December 27, 1941 and passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on September 14, 2022.

As a young adult in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he worked as a shoemaker and later migrated to Lynn, Massachusetts, where he owned a cleaning company until retirement.

Fernando will be remembered for his legacy as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. People naturally gravitated towards him because of his warm and welcoming nature. He was always making friends, cracking jokes, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved boleros and rancheras and jumped at the opportunity to belt out a beautiful ballad upon request from friends and family.  He most recently allowed his grandchildren to capture his amazing personality through silly and heart-warming videos that have become family treasures.

We take this moment to honor our elders who have passed. Fernando will be reunited in heaven with his parents Leonte and Dolores Diaz along with his siblings Victor Diaz Santos, Praicides Rivas, Hilda Antonia Diaz, Norma Amelia Diaz, Bienvenido Diaz, Eladio Diaz, Ana Nodia Diaz, and Hector Diaz.

Fernando's spirit lives on through his loving wife Bernarda Socorro Diaz, his siblings Cleto Marcelino Diaz, Beljica Diaz, Ada Diaz Hernandez, Yvonne Diaz, Miriam Diaz Espinal, and Guarionex Diaz. His children Yvonne Altagracia Diaz, Ivelisse Altagracia Diaz, Patricia Altagracia Maldonado, Fernando Alberto Diaz, Anacany Diaz Gardner, and Taisha Diaz. His grandchildren Patricia Altagracia Cabrera, Fernando Alberto Cabrera, Rocio Venecia Rosa, Sirena Mely Castillo, Jules Mely Castillo, Xavier Osiris Vasquez, Maximus Leonte Diaz, Samuel Michael Kuran, Ileana Kuran, Addario Emilio Miranda, Mehki Diaz, Gianni Salcedo, Lennox Maldonado, Lunna Belle Maldonado, Abigail Mickenzie Gardner, Naila Ara Lakpa, Charlize Ryan Gardner, and Clifton Jaxson Gardner. Great grandchildren Mila Shay Cabrera, Yvonneli Lidia Martinez, Michael Cabrera, Liam Cabrera, and Aria Analee Deleon.

The viewing will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Goodrich funeral home from 1-4 PM followed by the burial at Pine Grove Cemetery on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10 AM.
