George Norris Sr., age 76, of Lynn, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at CareOne in Peabody.  He was born in Shorter, Alabama to the late John Norris Sr. and Mary Baggs Norris on June 3, 1941.  He received his High School Diploma from Booker T. Washington High School in Montgomery, Alabama.  He was united in marriage to Ozella Burton in 1965.  He worked as a machinist at General Electric and a driver for Tri City Sales for over 23 years.  He was a member of Mount Olive Church of God in Christ where he was a member of the male chorus, Deacon Board and served as a Sunday School Teacher.  George is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Norris, his two brothers John Norris and Fletcher Norris; his three sisters Mary Augusta Leftridge, Ruby and Dorothy.  George is survived by his loving devoted wife Ozella Norris; one daughter, Cynthia Norris of Lynn, two sons, George Jr. (Michelle) Norris of Lynn and Kenneth (Lakeisha) Norris of Springfield; two brothers Arthur (Roslyn) Norris of Meriden, CT, and Joseph (Gladys) Norris of Letohatchee, AL; 7 grandchildren, Nina Norris, Matthew Norris, both of Lynn, Taylor Norris of Salem, Darius Norris, Jayvon Norris both of Lynn, Moriah Berry of Peabody and Kenneth Norris Jr. of Springfield, 5 sisters-in-law Florence Bennett of Benton Harbor, MI, Mary Ann, EleaNora Reynolds, Velma Brock, all of Lynn, and Diana Rucker of NH, 5 brothers-in-law, Andrew (Patricia) Burton of Peabody, Sammy (Natha) Burton of Springfield, Frank (Terry) Burton of Tyron, GA, Vernell Brock and Floyd Brock, both of Lynn and a host of nieces and nephews.  His funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Mount Olive Church Of God in Christ, 20 Johnson St., Lynn.  Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.  Arrangements by the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn.  The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks for the care given by CareOne, Union and Salem Hospitals and the prayers from all his friends and family.
