James P. Corriero, Jr (Jimmy), 78, of Lynn, MA, formerly of Cambridge MA, died peacefully in his home on January 30th where he resided for 12 years with his dedicated caregiver, Cathie Harris and her husband David Harris. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, James P. Corriero, Sr and Gloria M. Corriero (Perry).

Jimmy grew up in the Portuguese section of Cambridge.  He was proud of his Portuguese heritage and he loved Portuguese food. He graduated from Cambridge High and Latin.

Jimmy worked for Harvard University in Facilities Management and He also worked as a Longshoreman on the docks in Boston, MA.

Jimmy served as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service and contribution to the success of the United States Air Force mission in Southeast Asia.

It was important to Jimmy to help the youth by sharing his personal experiences with effects of agent orange during the war. His trademark was his bomber jacket and U.S. Air Force hat he proudly wore every day.

Jimmy loved his country and his friends dearly. He had a very giving heart and he proudly supported St Jude Children's Research Hospital over the years.

Jimmy was survived by his siblings Mary Wilson, Dolores Campbell and her husband Allan, Richard Corriero and his wife Helen and Elaine Cornell and her husband Jack.

He was also survived by Nine nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, William Wilson, David Cambell, Susan Lambert, Scott Campbell, Lisa Stribley, Michelle Whittemore, Denise Corriero, Tiffany Farmakis-Day and Charles Farmakis, and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his great nephew Joshua.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Vietnam Veterans Section with Military Honors.
