James H. "Jim" Gatchell, 84 years of Lynn, passed away Thursday January 14th, 2021 after a brief illness at home, surrounded by his loving family.

James was the son of Albert and Louise (Sheldon) Gatchell. He retired from GE in Lynn with over 25 years of service.

James was the husband of the late Geraldine (Ferrier) Gatchell, with whom he shared over 47 years of marriage. James was predeceased by his sons, Eugene Blanchette, John Blanchette, and Kenneth Cash, granddaughters Ruth Ho and Tayla Headle, and his brothers, Albert, and Bob. James leaves his children Raymond Blanchette, and his wife, Eileen, Diana Headle, and her husband, Timothy, and James R. Gatchell, and his wife, Kristina, with whom he made his home.

He also leaves his children on the West Coast, Janice Gatchell, William Cash, James H. Gatchell, Jr., his wife, Peggy, and also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

His grandchildren, Meaghan Blanchette, Candice Sullivan, Jeffrey and John Blanchette, and his wife , Julie, Katie Bowzer, Michael Gatchell, Rafael, Marcus, and Zachary Bowzer, James R. Gatchell, Jr., William Hight, Nolan Headle, Joey Collazo, Meaghan Russell and her husband, Joshua, and his great grandchildren, Shannon, Kaylee, and Olivia Ashley, Alex Sullivan, Max Tarantino, Ethan, Xavier, and Aria Russell. And his sister, Louise Poitras of California.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James' name to All Care Hospice, and the Childhood Cancer Foundation.
