Janet Ruth
Bucchiere
January 17, 1939 – May 1, 2026
With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Janet Ruth Bucchiere (Ripley), 87, of Newburyport, MA — formerly of Saugus, MA on May 1, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born on January 17, 1939, in Liberty, ME, and was the last surviving child of seven born to Elden Ripley and Gertrude Ludwick.
She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years Roland J. Bucchiere, and is survived by her daughter Nicole C. Weng and her husband Adam D. Weng, daughter Yvonne A. Bucchiere, and grandchildren Devante A. Bucchiere and Sofie E. Weng.
She had a special love for her stepfamily including Serena Francouer, Donnie Francouer (predeceased), Rosa Bucchiere, and her children Carina and Crystal.
Her death will be felt by so many whose lives she touched, especially her nieces Leanne, Jennifer, Shirley and Brenda. Additionally, her loss will be felt by her nephews Michael Moccia and his wife Sharon, and Robert Moccia and his wife Kim.
Janet was a devoted wife, mother, nana, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, aunt, niece and friend. She and Roland owned and operated several businesses, including Bucchiere’s Restaurant, in Everett, MA. She was a one-of-a-kind host who made everyone at her house or cooking beside her feel right at home and welcomed back anytime. Her niece Cheryl continues that tradition today in the same house, and that made her smile. She appreciated the special people in her life who started as friends or neighbors and became family and those family members she thought of as best friends.
Her love for family was unyielding and unconditional. Her absence will be deeply felt, and she will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 18 at 12pm at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody, MA. Please donate to the American Heart Association as there will be no funeral service. Additionally, you may order Remembrance Baskets through Puritan Lawn.
