A Life Defined by Love, Strength, and Compassion
Jennifer Linda Ny passed away peacefully at her home in Modesto, California, surrounded by her loving family from both coasts—California and Massachusetts—on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the age of 40.
Born on October 23, 1985, to Ny Saim and Loeup Phan, Jennifer spent her early years in Modesto, California, attending Kirschen Elementary School, where she participated in chorus. She later continued her education in Massachusetts at Breed Middle School and Classical High School in Lynn, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Yearbook Club.
Jennifer worked in retail for many years and served as a manager at Fashion Bug, where she was deeply loved by coworkers and customers. She had a natural gift for connecting with people and made a lasting impression on everyone she met through her kind heart, infectious laughter, and warm spirit. Her talents were many. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crafting, and approached each project with patience and creativity. An avid gardener, she had a special fondness for her beloved Monstera plant, Emma, which she lovingly nurtured. She was also an exceptional cook, expressing her love through meals that brought comfort and togetherness.
Jennifer was diagnosed with lupus in 2004. Despite its challenges, she faced life with grace, courage, and strength, inspiring those around her through both her triumphs and her struggles. She was a true warrior; many people would never have known the difficulties she endured, as she carried herself with remarkable resilience, determination, and positivity. Even on her hardest days, she continued to put others before herself.
Throughout her life, Jennifer was a constant source of love, guidance, and support to her nieces and nephews. She played a nurturing role in their lives, and to them, she was more than an aunt—she was a second mother.
Jennifer will be remembered for her generous heart, resilience, and warm spirit. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her father, Ny Saim; her mother, Loeup Phan; her siblings Vatna Ny, Rothana Ny, Wannack Ny, and Nina Ny; her nephew Damon Ny Chan; and her nieces Lydia Channy Chan, Aaliyah Ny Chan, and Melia Lauren Preap.
