Joao "John" Moscatel, 68, of Lynn, MA, passed away on May 17, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born on July 26, 1955, in Lajes, Terceira Island, Portugal. John was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend.

John worked as a construction worker/handyman and took great pride in his work, especially when it involved helping his family and friends. He was known for his dedication and skill in his profession.

In his free time, John cherished being a Vovo to his grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them. He also enjoyed socializing with loved ones over a glass of wine, always bringing joy and laughter to those around him.

John is survived by his wife, Lucy Mendonca; children Jeff Moscatel, daughter in law Victoria Moscatel, Cody Moscatel, daughter in law Deanna Moscatel, Matthew Moscatel, and Monica Mendonca; brothers Helio Moscatel and Jicinto Moscatel, sisters Ana Moscatel Berry, Maria Moscatel Machado, Maria Moscatel and Zelia Moscatel; grandchildren Arielle Moscatel and Cassian Moscatel. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jacinto Moscatel, mother Maria Moscatel, and brother Jose Moscatel.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Goodrich Funeral Home in Lynn, MA at 128 Washington St. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 4-7 PM. All are welcome to pay their respects.

John Moscatel will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
