John J. Lazurek Jr., "the guy who knew everyone", age 83, of Lynn, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was the loving companion of the late Michelle Wilson, who passed away last month. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Lotta (Little) Lazurek. He was a lifelong resident of Lynn. A Veteran of the Korean War, he proudly served in the Navy. Prior to his retirement, he was a machinist and had worked at GE. John was down to earth and a "story teller". He enjoyed reading, learning something new every day, crosswords, cribbage, Jeopardy and cooking. He was an avid Patriot's fan. John is survived by his son Brian S. Lazurek and his partner Laurie of Cortez, FL, his son and his wife Dana A. Lazurek and Loralei of Pheonix, AZ, his grandchildren Mikyla, Cadan and Levi, his siblings, Mildred "Millie" and her husband Dave Fraser, Patricia "Pat" and her husband Vinnie Narducci, Ellen and her husband Joe Leone, James "Jimmy" Lazurek, Jane and her husband Bob Parker and Gary and his wife Elaine Lazurek, many nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was the father of the late Cheryl Lazurek and brother of the late Dorothy and her husband Jack Blaney, and the late Joseph Lazurek. He enjoyed seeing people and seemed to know everyone he ran into. A memorial service will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Veteran's section.
