Saugus - John M. Murphy, 65,  a longtime resident of Saugus, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 24, 2021 in Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose after an illness.

John was born in Cambridge on September 23, 1955, a son of the late James H. and Marie Murphy.

John will be missed greatly by his daughter Lisa-Marie Stewart of Florida and her husband Jim. John also leaves behind his beautiful grandchildren Brice, Jayce, Mason, Tristan and Kenadie.

John also leaves behind his loving partner Marcia Small of 21 years.

John will also be missed dearly by his siblings Francis Murphy and his wife Carol of Hanover, James Murphy and his wife Dorothy of Webster, Paul Murphy of Harvard, Robert Murphy and his wife Tanya of Clinton, Mary Ann Doherty of Lunenburg and Ann Marie Murphy of Harvard.

John was also predeceased by his nephew James H. Murphy III and his brother in law Paul Doherty.

John grew up in Cambridge and spent many years as a mechanic in the bowling alley business. John most recently worked several years at the Home Depot. John was a hard worker and always made time for his family in helping out with whatever task was asked of him. John was a fun loving Dad, Grandfather, brother and son.
