IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Josephine A.
Funicella
July 9, 2025
Josephine "Josie" (Ciarletta) Funicella, age 83, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Renaldo and Yolanda Ciarletta. Josie was a unique "one of a kind" person who was loved by many. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the Admin Building in Lynn and Boston Gas in Malden. Josie enjoyed her friends and spending time playing cards, the dog track, "gambling" and casinos, the Red Sox, coca cola, travel and vacations and loved Elvis!
Josie is survived by her children, Scott and his wife Barbara Funicella, Randy Funicella and Robert Randazzo, her son in law Jonathan Westfield, her siblings Jean Keaney and Ginger Serino and was a very special "Noni" to Andrew, Matthew, Jennifer and Lia Funicella, Summer Westfield, Joseph and Lucciano Funicella and Philly Randazzo, great grandmother of Jude Pettengill, Aunt to many nieces and nephews and also several cousins survive her. Josie felt fortunate to have many friends, among them, Ann Mucci, Carol and Jack Gagliatti, Connie Miller, Janet Conway, Jean Crescenzo, Margie Shanoski and Margie Spinelli and the friends who passed prior to her, Annette Fountain, Peggy Brinkler, Marie Camilia and Priscilla Arena. She was the mother of the late Karen Funicella, Joseph Funicella, Gino Funicella and Philip Randazzo and sister of the late Renee Ciarletta.
Visitation for Josie will be held in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street, Lynn, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
