Karin A. (Shanks) French, age 62, of Peabody, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 following a brief illness.  She was the wife of Ernest "Ernie" French, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage.  Born and raised in Swampscott, daughter of Leroy and Isabelle (Croft) Shanks.  She was a graduate of Swampscott High School, class of 1975.  She also attended North Shore Community College and Salem State, earning her Bachelors degree.  Prior to her retirement, Karin was a transport aide at Lynn Hospital.  She loved to bake for family and friends.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Jessica L. French of Everett and extended family.  A memorial service will be held in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street, Lynn, on Saturday 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
