Khalil Jamal Abellard arrived in the early afternoon on December 16th 2006; born to Larrysha Ahart-Upshaw and Rodrigue Abellard Jr. in Cambridge Massachusetts.

As a Lynn resident, Khalil attended Cobbet elementary school, Pickering middle school, and Lynn English high school.

Khalil was a fun-loving and intelligent child. He enjoyed taekwondo at the DW-Kim US taekwondo center in Beverly Massachusetts, earning the name "Real Steel" Khalil, while earning his belts. He enjoyed attending overnight camp with crossroads for kids at Aggasiz Village in Poland, ME and Camp Wing in Duxbury Massachusetts, where he was nominated to their leadership program for exhibiting leadership skills and outstanding behavior.

Khalil was very athletic. He played football for the Lynn silverbacks and later  junior varsity and varsity Football for Lynn English. He ran track for the Lynn Tech Tigers before running track for Lynn English, placing 2nd and 3rd in multiple races. He also played volleyball. Khalil aspired to attend college after high school, his top picks being HBCUs and a STEM school.

In his leisure time, Khalil was found playing video games, attending parties with friends, dancing and creating content, going to the mall, the movies, restaurants, and traveling with his family.

Khalil was a bright, humble, and easy going teenager. He put his heart into everything he did. He was well liked and made friends everywhere he went.

To our sorrow, God called Khalil home on November 25th 2022. He passed away peacefully in sleep, at his residence. He is preceded by his grandfather Rodrigue Abellard Sr. and survived by his grandmothers, Sheryl Jackson and Yolene Abellard, Grandfather, Josiah Ahart, both parents, his oldest brother, Qasim L. Abellard, a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, additional family members, and plenty of friends. Khalil was a kind- hearted, beautiful soul. His infectious energy, upbeat attitude, humor, positivity, and bright smile was a light to everyone he encountered and he will be missed tremendously.

His home-going services will be held at the Goodrich funeral home, 128 Washington street Lynn MA 01902, On December 15th from 4 PM to 8 PM and on December 16th at 12 noon, where family and friends can say their final goodbyes.

Rest in Heaven, Khalil. We will forever love you and miss you, until we meet again.
