Laura F. Hollingsworth, age 82, of Nahant, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Fenton & Mirtha Cook. Laura was born on October 27,1933 in Culpeper, Virginia where she enjoyed most of her childhood before moving to Niceville, FL, and then to Massachusetts. She was
the Loving wife of the late Cecil D. Hollingsworth whom she spent 50 years with before his passing in June of 2008. During their time together, they enjoyed Dancing at the Ballad in Saugus, Bowling, Bingo, The Shooting Range and Many Road Trips. During the 1970's Laura was a Nurse at Salem Hospital and Lynn Hospital. While working at Lynn Hospital she was able to be in
attendance for her granddaughter Deidre's birth. During the 1980's she was Store Manager of Bradlee's in Vinnin Square in Swampscott. She was the mother of the late Leslie Peterson (1958-1959) and Raymond Peterson (1953-2008). Laura leaves behind her Daughter Denise and her Husband Stephen Nicketakis of Nahant, Son Kirk Peterson and his Wife Diana of Florida and Daughter
Marlene Fraser of California. She also leaves behind her beloved
grandchildren: Deidre and Her Husband Christopher McAleer of
Haverhill, David Brotz of New Hampshire, Danielle Susskind of Maryland, Joe Brotz of Louisiana, Candy and her Husband Steve Fonts of Maryland, Elizabeth Peterson of Boston and Robert Peterson of Lynn. Laura was also the great-grandmother of 7 boys and 5 girls. A funeral service will be held in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street, Lynn on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visitation is Friday, 3-6 p.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
