Obituary

Lisa was born one of eight children to William H.and Barbara M. Curtis, living her entire life in Lynn, a city she passionately loved, while being close to her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Barbara, grandmother Margaret and her two older brothers, William H. Curtis III (little Billy) and Mike Curtis.

She is survived by her loving wife Paula Lynes of forty-four years.  They married in 2005 and would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on May 21st, 2025.  She leaves three sisters, Andrea Donahue, Cathie Harris and Sharon Curtis, all of Lynn, her two brothers, Paul Curtis of Rome, Italy and Danny Curtis of Haverhill, Ma and sixty-seven adoring nieces and nephews.

Lisa loved her large family and had a special bond with Sharon, the youngest sibling and adored her elder sisters and brothers. She loved all her nieces and nephews equally and would be the life of every Curtis gathering.  She had an especially deep devotion and idolized both her mother and grandmother Margaret.  She graduated from Saint Joseph's School, class of of 1970, Saint Mary's High School, class of 1975 and went on to Bridgewater State College, transferring to Salem State in her junior year, to be closer to her family.  She was an outstanding basketball player and was invited to join the varsity team as a freshman and continued playing throughout her college years.  Lisa played softball for the 757 on Western Ave with her friends and tournament teams.  She was a gifted bowler, joining the GE league (along with Sharon), winning various prizes in several categories at the Leagues' Award ceremony.

Lisa was proud of her Irish heritage and won two round-trip tickets from Air Lingus, during an Air Cargo annual meeting, where she met new friends throughout Ireland.  She had a lifelong love of music and was a member of the Jeanett's all-girl Jr. Drum and Bugle Corp., playing top high soprano.  She remained a Drum Corp nut her entire life, along with Sharon.  She loved going to the annual Plymouth, Mass "Americas Thanksgiving parade, highlighting Senior Drum Corps from all over the U.S. and Canada.  She especially loved seeing her friends march with the Crusaders and screamed out their names and pretended she'd be marching with them, getting the audience around her hooting and enjoying the entertainment.

Lisa was a natural leader and the MC at the Curtis family reunions.  Her energy an enthusiasm were electric.  She and various family members all became pillars of the Curtis family, providing care and support for family members suffering from life's issues.  Love simply radiated from her.  She was truly kindhearted and had a natural love for all people, doing random acts of kindness wherever she went.  Lisa was taken way too soon and did not suffer.  We are truly grateful to the powers that be, that she is now with her beloved mother, grandmother, siblings and her little black-eyed, button-nosed beauty, Maddy Curtis with the waggly tail.

Lisa loved her work as a courier, picking up documents or delivering to brokers. forwarders, US Customs and Chamber of Commerce, while Maddy was happily running beside her at the various stops.  She was a member of the North Shore Garden Club and would gather monthly with like-minded friends, enjoying laughter, joking and playing pranks on each other.  She loved cooking and knew her way around the kitchen.  She loved camping and had weekend get-aways at Locklins Campground in Hiram, Maine, where she had many friends.  She was a gifted storyteller and no one was better than her.  Lisa and Paula had a beautiful camper, pontoon boat and a dock right on Stanley Pond, a stone's throw from the beach, enjoying it for over thirty-nine years.  Not getting any younger, it was time to move on and enjoy their tiny, but lovely home in Lynn, overlooking the pond, with good neighbors, beautiful birds and all kinds of wildlife.

Lisa and Paula shared a wonderful life together, being appreciative to family, neighbors and life-long friends.  Her smile and bigger than life personality was loved by everyone.  She lived life to the fullest, radiating joy and happiness, filling every room with energy and love.

There will be a celebration of life at Old Tyme Italian, 612 Boston St. in Lynn on November 17th from 2 to 7 p.m.  All are welcome.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in Lisa's name to the North Shore Animal Rescue at 347 Highland Ave. in Salem, 01970 or to the Saint Francis House at 39 Boylston St., Boston, MA. 02116.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Goodrich Funeral Home, Lynn.
