Obituary

After a courageous battle with cancer, Maria (Pfaff) Burns passed away peacefully at her home. She was born in Dutenhofen, Germany to the late Karl and Maria (Friedrich) Pfaff. Maria was brought up in the Lutheran church, and was educated in the Dutenhofen school system. While assisting at the German orphanage, she met and married her beloved husband, the late Sergeant Tracy V. Burns. In 1956, they moved to the US, where they raised their four beautiful children in Lynn, MA. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who delighted in hosting and preparing big dinners for the family.

Marie Burns worked as the assistant supervisor at Star Sportswear Manufacturing Company for several years. She was also a devout Christian. For over 50 years, she served as a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. In 2006, she became a member of the Miracle Center Church of God in Christ, to help her son, Pastor Tracy V. Burns Jr., where she faithfully served until her passing.
Maria Burns is survived by her daughter: Evelyn Lyttle; her three sons; Herbert Burns, Tracy Burns Jr. and his wife Angela; Dornell Burns and his wife Sandy; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, cousins, a niece, and a nephew.
