Maria (Sarro) Nickerson died after a short illness Monday, June 1, 2020 at the age of 72.

A loving sister, caring mother, amazing grandmother and devoted wife, Maria was born in East Boston and was an avid Red Sox fan. She worked at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Lynn, and had a summer camp in Rochester, N.H.

Maria is survived by her husband of 54 years James Nickerson Sr. of Lynn; her sons James Jr. and Steven; her sisters Barbara, Christine, Patricia, Karen; her brother Bobby; and her adoring grandchildren Katie, Lauren, Brooke, Joelle, Dylan, Tyler and Maddie; and her sisters-in-law Donna Psomos and Cheryl Tortolini. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends. A special thanks to the King Beach Towers residents for their overwhelming support.
