Mary J. Currier, of Middleton, MA, and formerly a longtime resident of Ipswich, MA, passed away on January 4th at Lahey Burlington after a brief hospitalization.

Mary was born in Melrose, MA July 11, 1941, to George Alfred Walker and Mary Agnes (Cronin) Walker. She attended Melrose High School. After raising her four children, Mary worked in retail at JC Penney in Peabody and Costco in Danvers.

She loved the beach, reading, traveling, celebrating the holidays, and, most importantly, spending time with her family. Mary was rarely spotted without her signature Barbie-pink nails.

Loving mother of daughter Dorothy Stanley of Marblehead, MA, son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Debra Stanley of Mashpee, MA, and son and daughter-in-law Mark and Cindy Currier of Middleton, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren TJ Stanley, Andrea Stanley, Matthew Stanley, Maddie Currier, Joey Stanley & Jessie Stanely, as well as great-grandchildren Alice Stanley, Jason Stanley, and Joshua Stanley.

Mary was predeceased by her son, James Stanley, and her grandson, James Alexander Stanley.

A private celebration of life and interment will be held at a later date.
