Melissa Sunshine Thompson, of Lynn MA, a beloved mother and grandmother, has passed away at the age of 47 on Wednesday July 19, 2023.

She is the daughter of Stephen and Deborah Thompson, the sister of Jennifer Thompson, the mother of Edward Vargas, Sergio Vargas, Alejandro Vargas, and Jared Vargas. She is the grandmother, better known as UMA, to her 9 beautiful grandchildren: Gianni, Aliyana, Kaylani, Malakai, Alejandro Jr, Edward III, Jenevieve, Evangeline, and Avery. She is the mother in law of Elizabeth, Crystal, and Anaeli.

Melissa was also a friend, a stay-at-home Uma, an upcoming nail tech, a listener, a provider, and all around one of the most wholesome human beings in the entire world.

She loved plants, doing her nails, having heart-to-heart conversations, going on car rides to enjoy the fresh air and visit the people she loved but most important she loved being a mother and Uma.

She knew how to make people smile, laugh, and be confident in who they are. She was the best all around and she knew how much we all loved her dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 5pm — 7pm at the Goodrich Funeral Home in Lynn, MA to reminisce, grieve, and support one another during this time.
