Michael A. Griffin, 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Michael was the beloved husband of Lois Griffin and the son of the late Tobe and Jean Griffin. He attended Madison Park High School in Boston, Massachusetts, and was employed for more than 20 years at Dino & Son Paving and Seal Coating in Beverly, Massachusetts. In 2015, Michael was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Michael was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He enjoyed watching music videos, recording himself singing, talking on the phone, and spending time with his dear friend Donald, affectionately known as “Run Run.” Michael had a kind and generous spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know him. His presence, laughter, and memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Lois, with whom he shared 18 years of marriage, Michael leaves behind his sons, Jeloni Johnson and his wife Nahomie, of Brockton; Michael Clayton of Illinois; Mario Clayton of North Carolina; and Shakur Clayton of Illinois. He is also survived by his daughters, Shaunte Mendoza of Virginia; Stephanie Clayton of Illinois; Shauna Evan of Mississippi; Jasmine Clayton of Peabody; and Makayla Clayton of Illinois.
Michael also leaves behind his three stepdaughters, Tiffany Farris-Ward and her husband, Anthony Ward, of Malden; and Ebony and Sheena White of Lynn. He was a proud grandfather to Jenai and Jayce Johnson of Brockton, as well as his three step-grandchildren, Kyree Ward of Malden and Jason and Jordin Perry of Lynn.
He is further survived by his siblings, Patricia James of Illinois; Kenneth James of Boston; and Carla Griffin of Providence, Rhode Island; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Tobe and Jean Griffin, and his brother, Louis James IV.
Though Michael is no longer with us, the love he shared, the memories he created, and the lives he touched will live on forever. He will always be remembered with love and missed more than words can express.
