Lynn— Minnie Helen Swain passed away peacefully, at home, on Nov. 28, 2017, in Lynn, Ma, with her longtime companion (of over 43 years) Clifford Jones, at her side.
Born in Little Rock Arkansas, on November, 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Louise Cobwell and Ted Riggs. She moved to Lynn, Ma, back in 1961, and remained there until she passed some 56 years later!
In addition to her longtime companion, left to cherish her memory are her children: Deborah, Sean and Walter Swain. Grandchildren: Sonya, Shnell, Siara, Jamie, Cory, Sean, Joey. Great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, sister Billie Jean Moss of Kansas City, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Marbline Walker, Frankie Riggs, and Robert Riggs. Helen's often humorous, loving and witty spirit touched the lives of her family, many friends and everyone who knew her. She was commonly referred to as "the backbone" of her family and had a passionate love for people from all walks of life. She never refused anyone food to eat, or a place to stay and was a deeply spiritual woman who loved the Lord. Helen Swain, is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Service information: Wake visiting hours will be held in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St, Lynn, MA, on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Greater Bethlehem Temple, 21 Light St, Lynn, on Friday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Floral contributions in Helen's memory may be made to Goodrich Funeral Home. Repast will take place at The Community Brotherhood located at 15 Coburn St, in Lynn, following the funeral service.
