Muriel I. (Hartt) Close, age 96, of Lynn, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Clarence H. Close. Born and raised in Bangor, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Pearl Hartt. She was a graduate of Bangor High School. Prior to her retirement, she was a Mortgage Specialist and retired from Fleet Bank after 15 years. Muriel loved to go shopping and sit at the beach watching planes come in. She is survived by her children, Harry Close of Lynn, Nancy Chandler of Lynn, Clarence Close of Florida, James Close of Indiana, John Close of Lynn, Nathan Close of NH and Joanne Womack of Lynn, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John Hartt, Louise and Bernice. Her funeral service will be held in St. Stephen's Memorial Episcopal Church, 74 S. Common St., Lynn on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn.
