O C
Payne Jr.
June 28, 1964 – May 24, 2026
Goodrich Funeral Home
10:00 am - 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
O.C. Payne Jr. passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, devotion, and unwavering love for his family.
O.C. was a dedicated employee of the City of Lynn, Massachusetts, where he faithfully served in the Lynn Water and Sewer Department for nearly 30 years. His strong work ethic and commitment to his community earned him the respect of colleagues and friends throughout his career.
Above all else, O.C. was a family man. He often said that the best job he ever had was being a father, and he did that job with pride, love, and dedication. He is survived by his children: O.C. Payne, Eddie Rucker, Terrel Payne, Latisha Payne, Alisha Sims, and a host of grandchildren and loved ones. He was especially proud of recently becoming a great-grandfather, a role that brought him immense joy.
O.C. was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son, Brandon Payne, and his sister, Annie Mae Satterwhite.
He is survived by his loving sister, Mattie Tyler, who became his second mother and helped raise him from the age of 12. Their bond was one of deep love, gratitude, and respect. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy, and his brother, Matthew.
Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, O.C. spent his days cracking jokes, making people smile, and bringing laughter wherever he went. He had a remarkable gift for brightening the lives of those around him.
His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren. In particular, he could often be found being lovingly "bossed around" by his beloved "Muffin," Journee, and "Tweety," Janiyah, who held a special place in his heart.
O.C. will be remembered for his laughter, his strength, his kindness, and the love he shared so freely. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
"A life filled with love, laughter, and family is a life well lived."
