Pamela Underwood Burton, age 55, of Lynn, passed away October 23, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Lynn, she was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1979. At UMASS Boston in 2010, she earned her certification as a substance abuse clinician. Pamela was the founder and executive director of Saving Our Souls Foundation Inc., a faith based organization formed to stop the violence among the youth in the City of Lynn. She was a member of the NAACP and the African American Leadership Council. Pamela was a proven leader of Lynn. Her vibrant smile and outgoing personality easily attracted people of all walks of life. She is survived by her children, Andrew E. Burton, Briana J. Burton and Chaz L. Burton, her grandson Xzavier Jean, her sister Sebrina Underwood of Lynn, and her brothers Eric Underwood of Lynn and Gregory Underwood of Clearwater, FL. A funeral service will be held in the Zion Baptist Church, 4 Adams Street Extension, Lynn on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 5-8 p.m. in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn.
