Obituary

Patricia Ann Johnson, age 58, of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on or about October 10, 2017. The cause of death is still pending. The angels took her from us to fly free without pain. She was born in Lynn where she attended St. Joseph's School graduating class of 1973. Patti later lived in Salem, graduating from Salem High School, class of 1977. Later she moved back and forth between Lynn and Salem. She graduated from Salem State College class of 1986 "while still working" earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with high honors. Patti also lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for a while. She was a general manager; system analyst and part owner of "Small Business Systems Inc." of Beverly. Patti later worked at General Electric Co. in West Lynn programming jet engine computer systems; often traveling to their location in Ohio. She was a wiz in her field. Patti slipped and fell on a wet floor while at G.E., and her back was never the same. These chronic back pain problems forced her to go on Social Security Disability. Medicines and therapy didn't seem to help. When able, she used the treadmill on the 7th floor of her building and went to the Lynn YMCA; loving the swimming classes. Patti practiced meditation and yoga to relieve stress, depression and anxiety. She was planning to hold these types of classes at her apartment complex to help others. She read the Bible and watched religious T.V. programs daily. Patti had strong beliefs in angels and their abilities to transmit warnings against harm and to protect. Patti used to paint "free hand" beautiful brightly colored pictures of cats, butterflies, angels, ocean scenes and sunsets on canvas for enjoyment and relaxation. She loved the warm weather, beaches, tanning and lobsters. Patti had fun times traveling with her mother to Hawaii, Florida, Bahamas, Las Vegas, Mexico, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Hyannis and New Hampshire. She was lucky playing BINGO and the slot machines. Patti enjoyed "Hello Kitty" products and the Patriot's "Gronk" and "Brady" when they won. She adored all animals, especially cats, having many at times. Cuddling with her cat Simon was comforting. He took up most of the bed! Playing with her hamster "Fluffy" added pleasure. Patti bravely traveled in her scooter to do errands, go to the beach and watch geese at Flax Pond. Patti was a member and volunteer at the Washington St. Baptist Church in Lynn. She also volunteered at My Brother's Table. Her beautiful smile and funny outgoing personality attracted many friends who will greatly miss her. She was the daughter of the late William D. Johnson Jr. of Washington State. Patti is survived by her grieving mother Marian (Richardson) K. Johnson of Lynn, her brother William E. Johnson of Tewksbury and her sister Debora S. Johnson of Lynn, cousins and friends and her cat Simon and hamster Fluffy. With love, hugs, kisses and broken hearts, we all say farewell to Patti til we meet again. In lieu of flowers: show your remembrance of Patti by "paying it forward" with love and caring deeds. A memorial service will be held in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn on Saturday, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
