IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick Sean
Houlihan
May 25, 2023
Patrick Houlihan, Sean to everyone who knew him, departed from this life on Thursday evening May 25th, 2023 after a long four year battle with that terrible, no good, dirty, cheating, loser cancer.
Sean leaves behind his amazingly strong, compassionate, beautiful wife Jo-Ann (hyphenated here and don't you forget it) who he spent 47 years annoying, arguing with, and most importantly loving. Sean was known as a lovable guy. He charmed most he met and left many more with a smile on their face. His kind heart and words can be credited in large part to Jo-Ann as he himself said, that she "taught him what love is". He would often tell her he loved everyone, but he always said he loved her the "most"
Part of the everyone else he loved, and able to say that they too had a large claim to Sean's heart: his first born son Kevin and his partner Betsy, their children Noah, Avah, and Katelyn, his son Tom and his wife (and Sean's favorite daughter-in-law) Kira, their son Benjamin, his daughter Kate and her husband (and Sean's favorite buddy) Chris, their children Emma, Alice, Charlie, and Jack. Sean also leaves behind a sister Peggy and her husband Fred.
Sean was known for his sense of humor, mischievous attitude, ability to create fun, and deep love of his grandchildren. Many who knew Sean lived in great fear of his ability to talk you into "just one more shot of tequila" which never lead to great outcomes but always left the best of memories.
Sean, like the shots, also leaves a long chain of wonderful memories with all who knew him. He was earnest, sincere, and kind. He made an impression on people. He taught his family that people can change and he challenged his wife to help him make that change.
Sean wanted people to enjoy life to its fullest. Should you wish to remember him: take a walk by the beach, listen to a Santana song, have a shot of Jose, smoke a doobie, or just do whatever makes you happy. If you knew him, know that he wished only the best for you. If you didn't know him, then we bet he'd wish you the best anyway. Goodbye Sean. We were lucky enough to not only know you but to be your family and we love you the best too.
