Rafael Callejas, age 58, died January 23, 2023, surrounded by his children and wife at Boston Medical Center after fighting cancer for 3 years.

Rafael was born on June 24, 1964, in San Vincente, El Salvador, the son of Maria Adelina Callejas and Rafael Sorto.

Rafael was a hardworking man who loved his family very much. Rafael was a warrior who fought his battle until the very end. Rafael loved watching over his 4 children, and 5 grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind his beloved wife Ernestina Arias and their 4 children. His daughter Esmeralda, his daughter Dora, his son Oscar and his youngest daughter Beatriz. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Carlitos, Leonardo, Allison, Alejandro, and Liam. He also leaves behind his brothers Florencio Sorto, Jose Callejas and his sisters Gladys Arias, Maria Martha, and Maria Dolores. Also, by all his nieces and nephews. He had a heart of gold and always helped anyone whenever he could. Rafael will be deeply missed.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation Service for Rafael on Tuesday January 31,2023 from 4pm-8pm at Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street in Lynn. There will be a mass to honor him on Wednesday February 1, 2023, at 10am at Parroquia Santismo Redentor in East Boston.

Friends and family please meet directly at the Church on Wednesday February 1, 2023 .

His burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn after the mass.
