It is with great sadness that our family announce the unexpected loss of Rafy
Lora, on October 30. Rafy was born on August 29, 1996, in Beverly,
Massachusetts, the son of Rafael Lora and Minerva Payano. He grew up in Lynn,
attended Lynn schools, where he excelled at football, and it is where he most
recently resided. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, that
Rafy had touched, in some way, throughout his short, yet memorable life.

Rafy will be remembered as a sweet, gentle soul, with a contagiously, bright
smile. He was known for his willingness and desire to sacrifice himself, and to
give to others in life, and as an organ donor, in death. He enjoyed spending time
with friends and family, his 3 dogs, working on cars, gaming, and appreciated the
simple beauty of nature. "The Scenery", as he always put it. His dream was to
become a firefighter. He had recently been working hard, in preparation for the
physical exam, which was to take place within days after his tragic accident.

Rafy is survived by his mother Minerva Payano, stepfather Rafael Garcia, his
father and stepmother, Rafael and Debbie Lora, their children, Rafy's brother and
sister, Zacarias and Gabriela, his sister Remirva Braga, husband Nicholas Braga,
their children, Rafy's nephew and nieces, Juniel, Jaslin & Janeli, his paternal
grandmother Genoveba Vasquez Lora, and many, many very special aunts,
uncles, cousins, and friends. He will forever remain in our hearts.

Due to COVID-19, a small, private memorial will be held for Rafy in the upcoming
days. The family hopes to hold a Celebration of Rafy's life, when this horrible
pandemic is behind us.

The family is asking that memorial donations may be made in Rafy's name, to a
charity of your choice, to your local animal, or homeless shelter.
