Obituary

Ralph "Al" Oathout, age 61, of Lynn, passed away Wednesday September 4, 2019 following a long and hard fought battle with cancer.  He was the husband of Carole Buckley.  Born in Melrose and a longtime resident of Lynn, he was the son of Ruth (Shaw) Oathout of Lynn and the late Ralph Oathout.  Al was an auto body repairman, having worked with his father and at Spina's in Lynn.  He also owned and operated his own body shop; Harborside Collision.  He enjoyed hanging at the shop working on "hot rods" and loved spending time with family and friends, camping and boating in New Hampshire.  In addition to his wife and mother, Al is survived by his daughter Danielle Buckley, his granddaughter Maliya Mitchell and her father Eryk Mitchell, all of Lynn, his sister Jeanne Mancini and brother Edward Oathout both of Lynn, many nieces and nephews and his in-laws: the Buckleys and extended family, his beloved dog Lily and many friends.  He was the brother and brother in law of the late James S. and Hope Oathout.  His visitation will be held Saturday, 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a service at 6:30 in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn.  Burial will take place at a later date.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to the MGH Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St., Danvers 01923.
