Ramona "Sugar" Ann Hunter of Boston, formerly of Dorchester, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 following a lengthy illness. She was born and raised in Boston, and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She was a health care worker, nurse's aide for Saugus Hospital. Sugar loved poetry and art and enjoyed dancing and reading card. Ramona was the mother of the late Jamie M. Hunter Sr., and is survived by her son Jason Hunter of Waltham, her mother Gerry Cancel of Saugus, Step father Mario Cancel of Easton, siblings Angela Silva of Saugus, Laura Jackson of Springfield, Mia Cancel of Stoughton and Marina Cancel Mendes of Easton, brother in law David Mendes of Easton, Aunts Shirley Leite of Stoughton, Muriel Monteiro of Allston and Hilda of Austin, TX, and many grandchildren; Jamie M. Hunter Jr., Jayla Hunter Alberti, Jayslin Hunter, Jayleigh Hunter, Jayvianna Hunter, Jaydee Hunter Deangelo, Jaylannie Hunter and great grandson, Jamie M. Hunter III. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Boston. Visitation will also be on Saturday, noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn.
