Robert J. Caldwell, lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Sunday October 11, 2015 following a brief illness. Bob was the son of the late Joseph A. and Doris Sims Caldwell. He was the husband of Christina Murray Caldwell, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Joseph A. Caldwell and Leslie R. Caldwell and grandfather of Olivia N. Caldwell. He was the brother and brother in law of Ronald J. and Shirley Caldwell, brother in law of Cheryl Anne Murray and James T. Murray and was the brother and brother in law of the late Joyce M. and Floyd Cully. Bob attended Lynn public schools, graduated from Franklin Institute and Northeastern University of Boston. Bob moved on to become Principal Chemist for New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island New England Power Company (NEES) for thirty five years. Bob retired March 27, 1998. Bob was affiliated with Community Brotherhood Club in Lynn where he served as Past President. He was a lifetime member of Prince Hall Masonic Temple where he was a past master of Widow Son Lodge and was also a member of Danvers Fish and Game Club and Lynn Fish and Game Protective Society. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially coaching youth sports in Lynn. Reading was his passion. Bob enjoyed his newly acquired texting skills. His funeral service was held on Friday at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery.
