IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
J. Berry
July 2, 1958 – January 19, 2026
Robert "Bob" J . Berry passed suddenly at age 67 of cardiac arrest in Lynn MA on January 19th, 2026. He was 67 years old. He is survived by his only child, daughter Jessica Berry and his grandchildren Austin Manthorn and Aiden Manthorn. Son of Clint Berry and Cecelia Johnson brother of the late David Berry and Deborah Martin and survived by his Sister Karen Berry. Also survived by his step mother Linda Berry along with a half brother Sean Berry and two step sisters Michelle and Kerry. He was the uncle to Timothy Stevens, the late Corey Richard, Ryan Holmes, Michelle Martin and Michael Martin.
Bob was known to many people all across the country. You could go with him to a different state and he'd recognize someone he knew. Bob had lived in Florida, California, New Hampshire and several other states but seemed to always end up back where his story began in Lynn Massachusetts. Bob was a Navy veteran and always felt drawn by the ocean. He was in IT and had taken many college courses to further his skills, including at Northeastern, and would bring his daughter Jessica right along with him to class. Bob loved his daughter and her two sons more than anything in this world, which was very clear to those who knew him.
Bob was always an athlete, particularly in karate, qualifying for the Olympics in judo at just 11 years old. He did several spartan races, even as he got older. He was often seen walking the beach on the Lynn/Swampscott line, where he lived. Bob always lent a helping hand to everyone and anyone who needed it, with no expectations or any questions asked. Many people affectionately called him "Uncle Booby". Bob has hosted several fundraisers, using his experience with stand-up comedy from when he lived in California, for causes that meant a lot to him. He could always make anyone laugh and it was based solely on the fact that he was a funny, positive guy. With that being said, he would want us all to celebrate his life and come together to support each other just as he did for others.
Calling Hours for Bob will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5pm-8pm, at Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street, Lynn, MA. A Mercy Meal will be held in Bob's memory immediately following Calling Hours at Fantasy Island Restaurant, 516 Loring Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.
