Robert 'Bob' Oren Bowker, of Saugus Ma, passed away December 16.

The son of David and Alice Bowker, he was born on May 26, 1923.

He was the brother to James, Kenneth, David, Phyllis and Muriel.

He was the husband to Oretha Cloudman Bowker. They married in May of 1948 and had two daughters. Reat, as he called her, would make him ham sandwiches with mustard, "just to add a little taste, whether he liked it or not." And he did not. Bob would do the grocery shopping every Tuesday and while at the store, would pick up a bouquet of simple flowers for her, quite often daisies, her favorite.

Father to Christine Bowker Popp with her late husband, Roy Popp, and Linda Bowker McCarthy and her husband Dennis McCarthy.

Bob was the grandfather of Jennifer Popp, Michelle Popp Dellascio, Michael McCarthy and Christopher McCarthy. He also was Great Grandfather to Jessica and Jason Dellascio, Ryan McCarthy and soon to be adding another great grandson.

Bob served in the Navy during World War II onboard the destroyer, USS Rhind in the Pacific Theater in the 1940's.

Bob, an avid outdoorsman all his life, loved hunting and fishing. He spent many years out in the woods and at the camp. He spent many hours fly tying and putting them to use fly fishing many rivers and streams.

Later in life he would enjoy making whirlybirds for the lawn, collecting state quarters as they were released, and puzzles.

There will be no services held.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Veterans Center in Bob's name.
