In loving memory of Rolfe Garfield Tilley, born December 25, 1928, who now reunites with his wife, Mary H. (Brown) Tilley, with whom they enjoyed 62 years of marriage. A Lynn native, born at Lynn Hospital to the late Gershom and Emily J. (Hoddinott) Tilley, and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1947. As an avid lover of classic films, he enrolled and is an alumni of the University of Connecticut Hartford, for art. He was also a historian, collector and restorer of motion pictures for over 50 years. He was well known for his showing of vintage films at Institutions and charitable functions. Rolfe was employed by General Electric at the West Lynn Works and at the River Works plant for over 38 years as a turbine blade assembler in building 67. He was a volunteer at the Lynn Salvation Army and a member of the Twi-lighters. A devout Catholic, Rolfe was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Lynn and attended the Men's Breakfast at Bethany Church. He was a past member of Local IUE 201, the American Film Institute and the Neighborhood Improvement Association. He loved his cats and enjoyed his summers at Old Orchard Beach, Maine. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his three children, Cheryl and her husband Bradley Stetson, Mark and Maureen Tilley and David Tilley, his grandchildren, Christina Stetson and her husband James Hogan, Susan Tilley and her fiancé Randy Keenan, Christopher Tilley and Matthew Tilly, his great-grandchildren Olivia, Christina and Chase and several cousins. His funeral will be Wednesday from the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Holy Family Church, 26 Bessom St., Lynn at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. For those desiring, memorials may made to the Salvation Army in Lynn or a charity of one's choice.
