Sofiya (Sofa) Ostrovsky, 87, of Lynn, MA passed away peacefully on November 17, 2021 in Boston, MA after a short illness. Sofa, daughter of Avram Epshteyn and Vera Yanovsky, was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, on January 19, 1934. Sofa graduated from Moscow Chemical Machinery University (MIHM) in 1958 with a masters degree in plastics engineering, shortly before she married her husband. They raised their two children in Moscow, Russia until they immigrated to America in 1990. Sofa loved spending time with her family, walking along the Nahant beach, and traveling all over the world. Her life-long wisdom, inquisitive mind, positivity, and strength will not be forgotten by her family and friends. She always lived life to the fullest, up until her death.  She leaves behind her beloved husband, Aleksander Ostrovsky, two children, Dmitry Ostrovsky of Boston, MA and Svetlana Bitman of Lexington, MA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Yana Ostrovsky, Viktoria Arons, Ella Bitman, Michelle Ostrovsky, and David Bitman, and two great-grandchildren.
