IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen C.
Lally Sr.
May 3, 2024
Stephen C. Lally, Sr., 63, of Lynn, MA, passed away unexpectedly on May 3rd 2024. Born in Chelsea, Ma, on January 3rd, 1961 to the late Paul and Jean Lally, Steve, or Stevo, as he was known to many, was raised in West Lynn's McDonough Square neighborhood.
Steve attended Lynn public schools (and as he liked to say grew up in "The School of Hard Knocks") before embarking on a career in the construction industry, most notably as a Local 7 Ironworker. He was a talented roofer who enjoyed working on high elevation rooftops.
He was the husband of Anna Lally with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. This marriage blessed him with 3 Sons that could not have made him more proud.
1988 saw the first of what Steve would consider his 3 greatest accomplishments in life: the birth of his son and namesake, Stephen C. Lally, Jr. then Kevin and Patrick Lally.
Steve excelled at fatherhood and shared a close bond with his 3 sons and many of their friends whom he opened his home to. He was a Little League coach for his son's baseball teams in their youth and in later years when his children's interests turned to music, he was there to load his car with their equipment and band members and attend every show they performed in.
He leaves behind his 3 sons: Stephen and wife, Christina of West VA, Kevin of Lynn and Patrick and partner Leanne of Peabody. Grandchildren: Fiora Lally of NY, and Jack and Stephen C. Lally III of West VA, all of whom he loved dearly. Siblings: Sharon Long and husband John of Maine, James Lally of NH and Paul Lally, Jr. of Norwell, MA. Nephews: Paul Lally (who he jokingly referred to as "the son he never wanted", but wouldn't have had it any other way), Todd Lally and Brian Berry, both of whom he was particularly close to, and several other nieces and nephews. Mother-in-law, Rose Mary Sargent, who he considered a second mom, sister-in-law, Tanya Emerson and husband Billy.
Predeceased by his parents and siblings, Colleen, Marion and Kathryn Lally.
Service to be held in The Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street Lynn on Friday, May 10th 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.
