Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather

Thai Son Duong, 82, of Lynn, MA, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2022 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Thai was born on May 10, 1940 in Vietnam, where he had trained and served as an indigenous soldier under the United States' MIKE Force during the Vietnam War.

Thai was preceded in death by his wife, Sophan Kim, brothers Xon Son Duong, Tri Son Duong, Rap Son Duong, Rang Son Duong, and sister Vana Thi Duong, all of Vietnam.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sophon Duong of Lynn, MA and Sothon Duong of Westbrook, ME; his brothers Cun Son Duong, Pune Son Duong, and Ran Son Duong of Travinh, Vietnam; grandchildren Sina Thach, Sinieng Thach, Narroth Thach, and Johnny Thach of Lynn, Hongvan Duong, Susan Duong, and Anthony Son of Westbrook, as well as six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, 4:00 – 7:00 PM, at the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street, Lynn, MA 01902. The wake will commence with Buddhist chants by monks promptly at 4:00 PM.

Funeral will be held the following day on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 8:00 AM with procession from Goodrich Funeral Home to Harmony Grove Cemetery, 30 Grove Street, Salem, MA 01970. Funeral rites will begin in the chapel, followed by cremation.
