Thong Chau, age 65, of Swampscott, formerly of Revere, passed away on August 24, 2016 in his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Loeuth Im. He was the loving father of the late Thao, and is survived by Sophal & Saily, Sopha, Sopheap & Jennifer, Sophea & Jonathan, Sophorn, Sopheac, Sophan, Sophany, Sopheary, and Sophana, and adored grandfather of Mia, Mekayla, Jaden, Leah, Hanna and Peter. Thong was born in Siem Reap, Cambodia, survived the Pol Pot Regime and immigrated to the United States in 1984. Thong had a passion for food and was the Head Chef at the King & I restaurant in Boston for twenty years. He was a devout Buddhist, and was devoted to his wife and children. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, September 2 from 4-6 p.m. in the Goodrich Funeral Home, and again on Saturday from 8-9 a.m., followed by a cremation ceremony in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
