Virginia L. Breedy, 91, transitioned from this life on Saturday, January 30, 2021.  She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts to Ivy (Johnson) Hanf and George F. Hanf on July 31, 1929.

She met her husband of 51 years, the late Arthur James Breedy Sr., when she was eighteen years old.  They were married a year later.  From this union two children were born:  Linda Diane (Herrick) Breedy and Arthur Breedy Jr.

Virginia was a teacher in the Lynn Public School System.  During her tenure with the Lynn school system, she was one of the original teachers in it's the Head Start Program.  Later she taught and supported other areas of the school system.

She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Women's Ancillary of Lynn for many years.  In her later years, Virginia enjoyed supporting community activities and sharing at family events with her close family. Virginia loved her family on both side (Breedy and Suter).

Virginia was predeceased in death by her husband, her sister Nancy Suter, and her two children who both recently passed away in the latter part of 2020.  She is survived by three sisters-in-law: Gloria (Breedy) Pitcher, Doris (Breedy) Hanks and Carol (Breedy) Jones of Lynn, Massachusetts, seven nieces (Suter), Gwendoline Grant of Salem, Kathleen Suter of Lynn, Deborah and her husband Joseph Ward of Beverly Hills, Fla., Nancy and her husband Richard Fleming of Lynn, Yvonne and her husband Robert Brooks of Merrimack, N.H., Colleen and Laurie Suter, both of Hillsboro, N.H, a cousin Dorothy Costa and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation and funeral service in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn on Friday, 10:00 a.m. – noon.  Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
