Obituary

William J. Anderson, "Billy", age 50, of Saugus, passed away September 4, 2017 due to a lengthy illness. He attended Learning Prep School for special needs Vocations Training in Newton, where he graduated in 1987. He was a longtime member and avid camper at Hidden Valley Campground in Derry, NH where he leaves behind many close friends who cared for him deeply. It was here that he volunteered his time to raise money for a local food bank in the area with the help of his best friend Rich; this summer, they raised $1,000.00. This made Bill very grateful. He was also an avid Demolition Derby car driver. Bill was able to compete in his final race on July 7th at Brockton Fare, and with the love of the promoters, the Mann Family, they set up a special car dedicated to find a cure for cancer. Billy won his heat that day, and received a trophy. This was a special and happy day in Bill's life. He is survived by his longtime companion, Kim McDaniels of Saugus for over 20 years. He also leaves behind his mother, Patricia (O'Hagan) Anderson of Saugus, his late father William Anderson, a brother Robert O'Hagan of Saugus, his niece Cassie O'Hagan of Tenn. He was also surrounded by a sister and her husband Tammy (O'Hagan) and Walter Palomino and his niece Gianna Palomino, all of Revere, whom he cherished deeply, and his nephew Patrick (PJAY) Fleury of Saugus. He was able to spend his last days enjoying his time with his sister and her family comfortably and peacefully before he entered the Kaplan House in Danvers. He also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. His family would like to extend their thanks to Bridegwell, and especially Mary Joyce, for the care and compassion they gave to Bill over the years. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations so they may continue to raise money for the local food bank and to start a memorial garden at his favorite place on earth, his campground. All monies collected will be divided to both causes. Please see GO FUND ME.COM for Bill Anderson.
