Obituary

William J. Ohlson, 82, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 19, 2023. He was born in Lynn, MA on September 5, 1941, the son of the late Edwin R. Ohlson and Josephine (Mahoney) Consoli.

A resident of Revere, MA since 2008, Bill grew up and spent most of his life in Lynn, MA. He was the owner of The Brandy Barrel Pub in Lynn and worked his entire career in the catering, restaurant and bar industry. Bill enjoyed traveling, especially road trips, old movies and television shows, restoring wooden boats, renovating houses, fishing and boating.  His greatest joy was spending time with his daughter, who was with him when he passed and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Lamm of Irvine, CA, his grandchildren, Matthew and Amy Lamm of Irvine, CA, his nephews, William H. Ohlson of Kensington, NH and Donald Courchaine of York, ME, his nieces, Terri Grower and her husband Kevin of Wakefield, NH, Karen Jensen and her husband Stephen of Northwood, NH, Ellen Levine and her husband Richard of Raymond, NH, his great nephews Grant Ohlson and Nicholas Jensen, great nieces Sarah Jensen and Kelsey Ohlson and his beloved Shih Tzu, Luke who will be well loved and cared for by a long-time family friend.  He was predeceased by his brother Edwin Ohlson in 2019 and his sister-in-law Althea Ohlson in 2020, both of Kensington, NH.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1:00 at Hibernian Hall, 105 Federal Street, Lynn, MA with a reception to follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bill's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org.
